<p>Innovation is crucial for driving economic progress and enhancing quality of life by introducing advancements and improvements across various sectors. Concurrently, energy sustainability emphasizes the need for cost-effective and reliable energy resources while minimizing environmental impacts. The relationship between innovation and energy sustainability is particularly significant in Asia, the most populous and diverse region globally. This region faces the complex challenge of balancing rapid economic growth and urbanization with the urgent necessity to adopt sustainable energy practices. Utilizing the Global Innovation Index (GII) and the Energy Trilemma Index (ETI) as global benchmarks, this study evaluates innovation efficiency and energy sustainability among 32 Asian countries. Employing a two-stage Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) model that incorporates the Super Slacks-based Measure (Super-SBM) and Malmquist approaches, we analyze the performance metrics of these countries. Additionally, hierarchical cluster analysis will categorize countries based on their efficiency scores, establishing benchmarks for improving less efficient nations. By examining the efficiency levels, influential factors, and the interplay between innovation and energy sustainability, this research aims to provide policymakers with valuable insights for informed decision-making and strategic planning to foster sustainable economic growth.</p>
