The Impact of Green Human Resource Management Practices on the Environmental Performance of Organisations
摘要
Environmental concerns are on the rise, and with them, the importance of green human resource management (GHRM) in boosting sustainable practices in organisations is also increasing. Therefore, this study aims to understand whether GHRM makes a difference in environmental performance, especially when mixed with the company culture and adherence to environmental laws. We used structural equation modelling (SEM) to analyse survey responses from 200 people across 20 organisations. Our research provides fresh insights by demonstrating how organisational culture and regulatory compliance significantly influence the impact of green human resource management (GHRM) practices on a company’s environmental performance. Our study shows that simply implementing GHRM practices is not enough to achieve the best environmental outcomes. There needs to be a blend of strong internal cultural support and firm external regulatory mechanisms.
