A Study on the Types and their Characteristics of the Circular Economy
摘要
The era of knowledge-based economy, the era of creation, diffusion and application of knowledge, has now led to the creation and innovation of a new economic science field called circular economy, and the circular economy has emerged as a powerful alternative to solving the environmental sustainability problem. New innovations in the theory and practice of the circular economy embody the concept and principles of the circular economy and have a great impact on the sustainable development of enterprises, cities, regions, national economy and the world economy, and thus emerge as the main solution for achieving sustainable development goals. However, even if the theory and practice of circular economy are currently innovated at a certain level, there is no consensus among researchers, stakeholders, companies and governments on the types of a circular economy. This is of significance in taking practical measures to develop the circular economy in conformity with the characteristics of a country or region. To develop a circular economy, it is necessary to classify the types of circular economy and to study their characteristics. This paper aims to classify the types of circular economy according to various markers. To this end, the authors analyze the studies related to the circular economy and the practical cases supported by innovations to classify the types of circular economy, classify new types of circular economy according to various markers, and discuss the characteristics of each type. This paper clarified that the types of circular economy can be classified according to the realization way and level, the realization target and method from the perspective of circular economy practice and theory implemented and discussed around the world. This classification will fill the theoretical gap that remains a shortcoming in a body of circular economy knowledge and will be able to serve on a certain policy basis in practice for developing the circular economy with purpose-conscious strategies and goals in companies, regions, and countries.
