摘要

Chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CSF) is a serious condition that often makes it impossible to participate in everyday life. The ability to perform daily activities is reduced, and social and family participation is frequently limited. In many cases, it is impossible to work, which also has financial consequences. The therapeutic challenge is to find a treatment concept that neither overstrains nor produces relapses. However, fatigue and physical performance need to improve in order to positively influence mood and quality of life. The main form of treatment is “pacing,” where activity is adapted to the individually available energy resources. Other treatment options are exercise therapy and ergonomics, respiratory therapy, electrotherapy, and cold therapy. Immunomodulating treatment like transcutaneous vagus nerve stimulation (TVNS) and resonant breathing are also relevant. The treatment program must be planned individually and adapted to the available energy resources.
