摘要

Objectives

The aim of this study was to examine the impact of the MyMind application on depression, well-being, quality of life, and mindfulness in Thai adolescents with depression.

Methods

The recruitment of 202 Thai adolescents with depression took place between December 2023 and January 2024. Participants were randomized to either the waitlist control group or an 8-week MyMind application intervention. Assessments of psychological outcomes, including mindfulness, depression, well-being, and quality of life, were conducted both before and immediately following the intervention.

Results

At post-intervention, participants using the MyMind application experienced significantly less depression (d = 0.47, 95%CI, 0.19, 0.75, p < 0.001) and experienced increased quality of life compared to the waitlist group (d = 0.37, 95%CI, 0.09, 0.65, p < 0.009). Interestingly, no significant effects were found for well-being (d = 0.08, 95%CI, −0.20, 0.36, p = 0.576) and mindfulness (d = 0.05, 95%CI, −0.23, 0.33, p = 0.547).

Conclusions

Thai adolescents with depression who used the MyMind application showed lower depression and higher quality of life compared to the waitlist group. MyMind application may be used as an alternative/complementary treatment for improving depressive symptoms and quality of life for Thai adolescents with depression.
