摘要

The rise of antibiotic-resistant bacteria poses a critical challenge to effective infection management. This study focuses on cefixime (CEF), a third-generation oral cephalosporin, and explores the enhancement of its therapeutic efficacy through innovative nanocarrier systems. Despite its proven effectiveness, cefixime’s low water solubility limits its bioavailability, necessitating the use of advanced drug delivery methods to optimize its performance. We investigated various biodegradable nanoparticles designed to enhance the loading efficiency of cefixime, thereby improving its solubility and antibacterial activity. Our findings reveal that these nanocarriers significantly increase cefixime’s therapeutic potential, enabling targeted delivery and improved pharmacokinetic properties. This research highlights the significance of integrating advanced nanotechnology with cefixime, offering a promising strategy to combat bacterial infections and address the urgent issue of antibiotic resistance. By enhancing the drug’s performance, we pave the way for more effective treatment options in clinical practice.
