<p>This study paper suggests a novel method by consolidating the Modified Grey Wolf optimization algorithm and the Cuckoo search (mGWO-CS) algorithm for the load frequency control (LFC) of a multi-area hybrid power system. Furthermore, by designing an adaptive fuzzy PID controller (AFPID) for frequency regulation of the mentioned hybrid system, the incredible potential of the proposed algorithm is proven. By analyzing the results of the proposed controller with those of other relevant soft computing techniques, the superiority of the mGWO-CS-based AFPID controller is exhibited. It has been discovered that the suggested controller performs better for load frequency control than the traditional controller and the hybrid algorithm is better than the original algorithms.</p>
