<p>Corrosion is the most severe predicament for aluminum alloys, especially; exfoliation corrosion. Surface texture is one the most prevailing factors that leverage the exfoliation susceptibility in Al7075 components in the aviation industry. In the present investigation, the amplitude and spacing roughness parameters; <i>R</i><sub>t</sub> and <i>R</i><sub>Sm</sub>, of Al7075 specimens were measured, followed by their measurement uncertainty evaluation: To ascertain the reliability of associated outcomes, and correlated with the corrosion attributes. The effect of <i>R</i><sub>t</sub>, and <i>R</i><sub>Sm</sub>, produced by turning operation on Al7075 samples, on exfoliation corrosion by laboratory immersion EXCO testing, has been explored. The aluminum 7075 alloy sample 3 (<i>R</i><sub>Sm</sub>: 0.166&#xa0;mm ± 8.91% and <i>R</i><sub>t</sub>: 6.599&#xa0;µm ± 9.87%) demonstrated a corrosion rate of 3.803&#xa0;mm/year which was 2.9 and 0.47 times higher than the corrosion rate of sample 1 (<i>R</i><sub>Sm</sub>: 0.129&#xa0;mm ± 6.87% and <i>R</i><sub>t</sub>: 5.875&#xa0;µm ± 11.43%) and sample 2 (<i>R</i><sub>Sm</sub>: 0.151&#xa0;mm ± 20.02% and <i>R</i><sub>t</sub>: 6.013&#xa0;µm ± 13.36%) respectively. The outgrows of this experimental investigation establish a relevant interrelationship between surface roughness and exfoliation corrosion.</p>
