Parotid Duct Penetration of Face-Lifting Absorbable Thread Identified Incidentally During Sialendoscopic Removal of Parotid Gland Sialolith
摘要
Facial thread-lifting is a minimally invasive procedure with limited scarring, rapid recovery, and fewer complications compared with the standard incisional surgery for facial rejuvenation. However, the complications of face-lifting procedures include redness, swelling, infection, necrotizing fasciitis hematoma, skin dimpling, visible threads, thread extrusion, contour irregularity, hyperpigmentation, facial paralysis, and allergy. However, parotid-related complications after facial thread-lifting, such as injury to the capsule or duct of the parotid gland, are extremely rare. Therefore, we report parotid duct penetration of face-lifting absorbable thread identified incidentally during sialendoscopic removal of parotid gland sialolith.
