摘要

Trauma causes injury over the cheek area of the face below which lies various vital structures of the region like the parotid duct, facial nerve and branches of facial artery. Injury to the parotid duct leads to the formation of cutaneous fistula, causing discharge of saliva to the external. Several modalities of sailocele management has been reported in the literature but the non-invasive method of localization of salivary duct using sialagogue agent is not available in literature. We have reported a case where lemon juice was squeezed over the tongue when patient was brought to Plane 2 Stage III anaesthesia, followed by oozing of saliva from the proximal duct. After this cannulation of duct was easier and the canula was trans positioned intra-orally to allow for epithelialization of the duct. Three weeks later the canula was removed and the patient has healed uneventfully with saliva draining intra-orally.
