This systematic review evaluates the adaptability, effectiveness, and postoperative complication rates of various external nasal splints to guide evidence-based clinical practices.</p> Method <p>A systematic search was conducted across databases, including PubMed, Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, and Cochrane Library, from 2014 to 2024. Studies on external nasal splints in nasal surgeries were included based on predefined eligibility criteria. Data extraction included primary outcomes (complication rates, adaptability) and secondary outcomes (patient satisfaction, cost-effectiveness). Methodological quality was assessed using the Joanna Briggs Institute critical appraisal tool.</p> Results <p>The review included seven studies, with sample sizes ranging from 20 to 523 participants. Findings highlighted that 3D-printed splints significantly reduce edema and ecchymosis and improve adaptability compared to thermoplastic and gypsum splints. While cost-effective custom-made splints showed promise, rigid splints, though effective in stabilization, were associated with discomfort.</p> Conclusion <p>3D-printed external nasal splints provide optimal outcomes by reducing complications and enhancing comfort. Tailored selection of splints, based on patient needs and resource availability, is critical to improving surgical outcomes and satisfaction.</p>
