摘要

Surgical removal of impacted teeth is a routinely performed procedure that entails removal of large amounts of bone. Use of localized cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) for accurate visualization of position and angulation of impacted teeth is increasingly gaining popularity. Even with CBCT a lot is left to the imagination of the operator when it comes to placement of incisions and bone removal. In recent times, guided surgery through 3-d printed surgical guides is routinely performed for precise localization in implant surgeries. Advantages of this include accuracy, decreased intra-operative time, direct guidance for placement of incisions, and minimal bone removal. This technical note presents the use of a novel custom 3-d printed surgical guide for a precision access alternative to routine removal of impacted teeth.
