Introduction <p>Adenoid ameloblastoma (AdAM) is a newly classified uncommon odontogenic tumor with overlapping histopathological features between ameloblastoma and adenomatoid odontogenic tumor (AOT). Histologically, it is characterized by plexiform ameloblastoma features, pseudo-glandular or tubular structures with or without dentinoid-like features.</p> Case Presentation <p>We present a 25-year-old female with a slowly progressive right mandibular swelling of 10 years duration with associated dental anarchy. MRI revealed an expansile, multiloculated, ovoid mass lesion arising in the right angle of the mandible. Histopathological features were consistent with adenoid ameloblastoma; however, unlike previous cases of AdAM, prominent acanthomatous features were observed. Management was via a right hemi-mandibulectomy.</p> Conclusion <p>With the new terminology of adenoid ameloblastoma and the enlistment of its diagnostic criteria, the scientific literature has encouraged updating, contributing, and refining the various aspects of this entity. This AdAM case is the first reported case in sub-Saharan Africa and the first to report prominent acanthomatous changes in its histopathology.</p>

Introduction
