Technique for Preserving the Inferior Alveolar Nerve During Mandibulectomy for Ameloblastoma Management: A Case Report
摘要
This article presents a technique for preserving the inferior alveolar nerve during resection of the mandible for the management of ameloblastoma. A 29-year-old female patient reported to our department with the chief complaint of swelling on the right side of the face for 1 year. The clinical examination along with radiological and histological evaluation indicated the diagnosis of ameloblastoma. Right-side parasymphyseal unilateral free-end mandibulectomy was planned with preservation of the inferior alveolar nerve. This technique offers two main advantages: Safe margin resection and removal of epineurium reduce the risk of recurrence and improves the quality of life of the patient.
