Sportiver Healthismus als wissenschaftliches Primat
摘要
The term healthism has received limited attention in German-speaking sports science. This paper examines the ideology of sportive healthism, which uncritically frames physical activity as a means of health promotion and individual responsibility. Drawing on an ideological–critical perspective, particularly following Louis Althusser, it is argued that sportive healthism is stabilized through hegemonic interpellations and recognitions. This ideology individualizes health and reinforces a neoliberal logic of self-optimization, systematically obscuring the structural and socioeconomic determinants of health. The paper also explores the epistemological implications by critically questioning how positivist health research itself is embedded in this ideological mechanism. Finally, alternative perspectives for a critically reflective sports science are outlined, emerging from the deconstruction of the healthist paradigm.
