Effect of Steam Explosion Pretreatment on Rice Straw Humification Performance During Composting

To study the improvement of humus content after composting rice straw, steam explosion, microbial inoculation, and combined pretreatment of the above two systems were experimentally adopted. During the composting process, relevant parameters like temperature, pH, electrical conductance (EC) and germination indexes (GI) were monitored, and the changes in organic mass (OM), total N (TN), total C (C), reducing sugars (RS), amino acids (AA), humic substances and humic acids were recorded. Meanwhile, the degradation rate of lignocellulose and the activities of β-glucosidase, FPA enzyme and LIP enzyme were also used to correlate with the above-mentioned factors. The results show that the above pretreatment has a positive promoting effect on lignocellulose degradation in rice straw, while humic matter formation has complex and intricate relationships in physical, chemical and biological indicators.
