<p>Integrative taxonomy is a reliable and feasible taxonomic approach for the studies on closely related and cryptic species. An integrated analysis of morphology and mitochondrial DNA was conducted to infer the status of invasive nesting whiteflies, of the genus <i>Paraleyrodes</i> (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) infesting different crops in India. The species-specific divergence among morphologically similar specimens of nesting whiteflies viz., <i>Paraleyrodes bondari</i> Peracchi and <i>Paraleyrodes minei</i> Iaccarino revealed the occurrence of one more invasive nesting whitefly, <i>Paraleyrodes pseudonaranjae</i> Martin amongst the colony of <i>P. bondari</i>, <i>Aleurotrachelus trachoides</i> Back and <i>Bemisia tabaci</i> (Gennadius) infesting <i>Duranta erecta</i> L. The morphological characters were detailed and compared along with the male genitalia and mitochondrial DNA data of <i>Paraleyrodes</i> spp. invaded in India. The male whiteflies collected during the present study which matched the description and illustrations of the genitalia of <i>P. pseudonaranjae</i> by Martin (2001) and the DNA characterization data (GenBank acc. No. PV450590.1 and PV474288.1) were 100% match with the sequences in NCBI database specimens identified as <i>P. pseudonaranjae</i> collected in Florida and China. This integrative approach confirms the invasion of highly polyphagous Neotropical nesting whitefly, <i>P. pseudonaranjae</i> for the first time in India. An extensive survey of the species in India may reveal more about its distribution, co-existence, host plants and potential natural enemies associated with this whitefly species in India.</p>
