摘要

We analyze the performance of a finite capacity M/M/1 queue with unknown service rates consisting of strategic and non-strategic customers considered in [7] against a benchmark finite capacity M/M/1 queue consisting of only non-strategic customers. The analysis provides a perspective on how the presence of strategic customers in the mix who make queue joining decisions influences the system performance juxtaposed against the presence of only non-strategic customers who don’t make any queue joining decision and always tend to join the queue. In this environment, we obtain analytical results illustrating the sensitivity of the throughput and the blocking rate to changes in the proportion of strategic customers and the waiting area capacity.
