摘要

Imidazolium L-tartrate crystal doped with calcium chloride, an organic nonlinear optical material has been synthesized by slow evaporation technique. The lattice parameters of the grown crystal determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. FTIR spectrum verifies the presence of functional groups especially N-H, O-H and C = O bonds. The optical band gap was estimated as 5.12 eV. The melting point is observed at 203 ᵒC, according to TG/DTA. Vicker’s microhardness confirms the soft nature of the crystals investigations using Meyer’s index of 2.49. The developed crystal laser damage threshold activity and NLO efficiency was investigated.
