摘要

In this article, a dual-core Photonic Crystal Fiber (PCF)-based biosensor is proposed for detecting Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) in human blood. The sensor features an elliptical dual-core structure with asymmetry to enhance sensitivity across a broad detection range. Circular air holes separate the cores, and their dimensions are optimized using the Finite Element Method (FEM) in COMSOL Multiphysics to improve sensing performance. The bio sample is infiltrated into the dual elliptical core, enabling BSA concentration detection within the range of 10 mg/ml to 90 mg/ml. The proposed sensor achieves wavelength sensitivities of 2.27 nm/(mg/ml) for x-polarization and 2.37 nm/(mg/ml) for y-polarization within a compact fiber length of 0.18 mm, making it highly suitable for integration into portable diagnostic devices. This advanced PCF design offers a superior alternative to conventional biochemical methods for BSA concentration measurement.
