<p>Nanoparticles are being added to both pure&#xa0;polymeric matrices and recovered waste polymers with the aim of producing innovative materials with enhanced properties, referred to as polymer nanocomposites. Due to their improved and tunable optical, thermal, electrical, magnetic, and mechanical properties that make them useful and perfect for a variety of applications, have witnessed a surge in research over the last 20&#xa0;years. Many methods are used to characterize materials that are polymer nanocomposite; however, THz TDS is a more recent method that provides a more precise characterization. The terahertz band was the least studied region of the electromagnetic spectrum was created in the late 1980’s. This study covers the latest developments in Terahertz TDS-based polymer nanocomposite technology, as well as their characteristics, methods of synthesis, characterization and applications using a range of techniques and a complete overview of THz TDS and also compares Terahertz TDS technology with other approaches.</p>
