摘要

The study reports the analytical determination of Stimulated Brillouin Scattering Threshold (SBST) and Stokes power in optical fibre for different index profile. The result shows the dependence of SBST on fibre length and pump power, with reference to threshold power and Stokes power. From the report it is observed that Stokes power directly increases with pump power and fibre length. This implies that more signals can be sent farther apart without suffering appreciable signal loss. As fibre length increases, threshold power decreases and attains saturation at 200 km. As the threshold power decreases, it means that the signal can maintain its integrity over longer distances without significant attenuation or distortion. This leads to improved signal quality at the receiving end, reducing the signal regeneration or amplification.
