Analysis of joined tapering and uptapering of holographic soliton pair
摘要
This paper investigates the phenomenon of coupled tapering/uptapering (TAP/UPTAP) of a holographic soliton pair using the Parabolic Equation Approach (PEA). A detailed analysis of the coupled TAP/UPTAP of the soliton pair is conducted, exploring various situations and parameters with identical or different beam widths. The results show that the pair exhibits uptapering (UPTAP) in the presence of loss and tapering (TAP) in the presence of gain. When the medium provides gain to the fundamental beam (FB) and loss to the soliton beam (SB), or vice versa, the pair uptapers for identical beam widths, whereas the FB tapers and the SB uptapers, or vice versa, for different beam widths. Furthermore, when the medium applies gain or loss to only one beam, the FB tapers or uptapers, inducing a tapered or uptapered waveguide for the SB. For higher values of loss or gain, oscillating beams emerge in the lossless third region. Additionally, when the FB is lossless and the SB is gained or lossy, the FB uptapers and the SB tapers, or vice versa.
