Numerical analysis of SPR biosensor using zinc telluride, ferric oxide and black phosphorous for malaria detection
摘要
The work presents a unique surface plasmon resonance (SPR) biosensor design that consists of a BK7 prism, silver (Ag), zinc telluride (ZnTe), ferric oxide (Fe2O3) and two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterial BP (black phosphorus). The design of this sensor is based on modified version of the Kretschmann configuration which utilizes the of attenuated total reflection (ATR) principle. The transfer matrix method (TMM) and finite element method (FEM) are used for simulation. With optimization of parameters, the maximum angular sensitivity of 370°/RIU and quality factor of 168.02/RIU has been achieved. Further, normalized electric field plot confirms the enhancement and encroachment of radiative field in different regions. The sensor provides excellent angular sensitivity which helps to detect malaria at the ring stage. This study could lead to the development of a significant device for identifying biological samples, enabling quick and accurate diagnosis in the ring stage of malaria detection.
