Episesarma De Man, 1851 (Decapoda, Brachyura, Sesarmidae) Species of Sundarban Biosphere Reserve, India with Their Molecular Characterisation
摘要
Episesarma singaporense (Tweedie 1936) and Episesarma versicolor (Tweedie 1940), two tree-climbing species of crabs, are recorded from the intertidal zone of G Plot, L-block and Lothian Island of Sundarban Biosphere Reserve, India. Of these, E. singaporense is a new record from India and E. versicolor is a new record from Sundarban Biosphere Reserve. Based on an integrative taxonomic approach, these species have been identified using morphological and molecular methods (mtCOI and mt16S rRNA). mtCOI gene of E. singaporense is sequenced and pairwise genetic distance is compared with other congeneric species. By selecting 3 mtCOI and 5 mt16S rRNA gene sequences from NCBI, neighbour-joining trees with 500 bootstrap replications are constructed for all Episesarma species. Both intraspecific and interspecific distances of all Episesarma species are presented. An attempt has been made to understand the phylogenetic relation of the Episesarma species.
