Selbstorganisierte Zusammenschlüsse zur Selbstvertretung in der Stationären Kinder- und Jugendhilfe
摘要
By examining the Self-organized Associations for Self-representation established under § 4a SGB VIII (Book VIII of the German Social Code), this article analyzes the use value of social law for young people on their journey toward becoming “self-determined, self-reliant, and socially competent individuals” (§ 1 SGB VIII). The SGB VIII regulates the interaction between public and nongovernmental providers and service users. Decrypting and appropriation of § 4a SGB VIII aims to contribute to strengthen the advocacy of young people as a collectively organized practice, generate trust in social welfare procedures, and thereby enhance the overall effectiveness of child and youth welfare services. At the same time, an examination of the development of § 4a SGB VIII as part of social legislation reveals how the inclusion of citizens enables codetermination in the sense of corporatist negotiation.
