<p>The research project “KidsComplicity” focuses on the active participation of children in family negotiation and transformation processes. Based on the assumption that children help shape family (non)togetherness, the everyday actions of children within the family are explored. An ethnographic research approach was chosen to gain comprehensive insights into the roles of children in families and also their contributions to negotiation processes and family transformations via observations and ethnographic interviews. The aim of the project is to record and depict the complexity of childrenʼs patterns of interaction and positions within families. Theoretically, the guiding questions are about “doing” (everyday practices) and “displaying” (the representation of family) by children.</p>
