Delineation of Hydrothermal Alterations and Linear Structures Related to Porphyry Copper Mineralization with Remote Sensing and Airborne Geophysics Data, Shahr-e-Babak study area, Southeastern Iran
摘要
The Shahr-e-Babak study area is in the Urmia Dokhtar magmatic zone in southeastern Iran. This area hosts several porphyry copper mineralization on a global scale, including the Meiduk, Dareh Hezar, Sara, and Abdar porphyry copper mines. Alterations and lineaments were extracted using airborne remote sensing and geophysical data for the study area. Processing and integration of remote sensing layers indicate areas susceptible to porphyry copper mineralization. Airborne radiometric data indicate the presence of several zones with high potassium enrichment. These zones are usually well correlated with dacite units and alteration zones that play an important role in porphyry copper mineralization in this area. A quantitative study used the receiver operating characteristic curve to examine the relationship between the alterations obtained from the principal component analysis (PCA) method and the band ratio with the copper mineralization points present in the boundary. A final integrated map was produced using lineaments and alterations from remote sensing and airborne geophysical data. This map indicates the presence of seven zones with high mineralization potential. Structural analysis of geological, geophysical, and remote sensing lineaments shows the presence of NWSE, NESW, and E–W directions for the lineaments.
