摘要

The assessment of precision in categorization outcomes through the use of independent data demonstrated a reliability exceeding 88% and a Kappa coefficient surpassing 0.84. These findings indicated a noticeable trend of increasing growth in construction areas (2,063.521 ha, increased by 88.858%), while simultaneously observing a decline in agricultural land (2,276.370 ha, decreased by 68.556%) over 23 years, and bodies of water (70.830, decreased by 13.497%) during the period from 2010 to 2023. Throughout the process of land cover and land use change, the complexity of agricultural land shapes tended to be simplified, whereas the distribution of the landscape and the intricacy of agricultural land structures have experienced a significant overall increase. In order to meet the demands of development, particularly in the newly established four wards, a substantial portion of agricultural land has been converted and utilized for construction projects, and the depressions containing ponds have been filled. This process of urbanization has resulted in the loss of nearly 2,300 ha of agricultural land and depression areas. The most evident urban expansion has occurred in the four wards of An Dong, Xuan Phu, Thuy Xuan, and Thuy Bieu between 2010 and 2023. Notably, Xuan Phu ward has undergone complete urbanization and has become a central hub for development in the entire region. This study provided valuable information regarding the interaction between urban development and fragmentation processes, as well as the subsequent effects on changes in the landscape surface. The discoveries made in this study will serve to support decision-making and environmental management strategies for sustainable development in the southern part of the Huong River in Hue City.
