Introduction <p>Early 2023 the HPV 18+ vaccination campaign was launched in the Netherlands. It targeted young adults aged 19–26&#xa0;year. Little is known about the decision-making process and reasons for (non)vaccination in this group. We investigated whether knowledge about HPV and vaccination-intention and -behavior among young adults are associated with the information campaign, and the determinants of vaccination-intention and-behavior.</p> Methods <p>We conducted a&#xa0;cross-sectional questionnaire study (Young Adults Health Monitor Northern North-Holland with additional HPV questions) in this group.</p> Results <p>1,900 young adults answered all HPV-questions, for 1,783 respondents background characteristics were available. 62% were female, and median age was 22&#xa0;years (interquartile range 20–23&#xa0;years). Around 40% reported they had seen the vaccination campaign. In that group, a&#xa0;larger proportion was vaccinated, and the level of knowledge was higher. Statistically significant positive associations were found between younger age (men), a&#xa0;healthy eating and drinking pattern (women), having debts (women) and having seen the vaccination campaign on Instagram or Facebook (women and men) and getting the vaccination. Drinking alcohol and tobacco use (men) and lower educational attainment (women and men) were negatively associated.</p> Conclusion <p>This study showed that the HPV 18+ vaccination campaign may have had a&#xa0;positive influence on the level of knowledge about HPV and vaccination-intention and -behavior among young adults in Northern North-Holland a&#xa0;few months after the start of the vaccination campaign.</p>
