Van patiënt naar partner
摘要
Researchers often struggle to find patients who match their needs for patient involvement. We offer researchers and patients practical tips for matching ‘supply and demand’, based on our experiences as patient representatives in research. All authors started as ‘naive’ patients, parents, or informal carers. This identity developed through a process of ‘adversarial growth’. We introduce four stages of personal growth for patients in the context of research. Our recommendations are intended as a starting point for an initial conversation and aligning mutual expectations. The ultimate goal is that all patients can contribute their experiences, qualities, and skills.
