<p>How should European security be shaped? The answer depends on whether and how the war in Ukraine can be brought to an end. Achieving this requires more than an armistice. First, a&#xa0;new European security architecture needs to be implemented, which could later evolve into stable peace. The likely alternative is a&#xa0;long and costly war. Hence, I&#xa0;argue in favor of a&#xa0;quick end to the war and outline a&#xa0;few steps that could lead in this direction.</p>
