Für einen demokratischen Machiavelli – Anmerkungen zur strategischen Kultur Deutschlands

This article argues that the much-scolded German lack of strategic culture may be resolved by the concept known as the Machiavellian revolution: a reconfiguration—long overdue—is conceptualized against the backdrop of vital external threats, after four core parameters underpinning the official “moderation” (Besonnenheit) have been unpacked and their weaknesses exposed. Building on that, three central elements of the newly emerging strategic culture can now shape future strategy-making.
