A Comprehensive Approach to the Management of Migration Towards Europe
摘要
The essay takes stock of how the EU has responded to the migration crisis from 2015 until today. It covers issues of the border and return management system as well as current asylum procedures and argues that the current system does not primarily protect migrants in need of protection, but rather provides opportunities for criminals and other illegal beneficiaries. Based on an in-depth assessment of the situation, the article proposes a comprehensive system that addresses the challenges on a systemic and interdisciplinary level.
