Zwischen Potenzial und Praxis – Unternehmen auf dem Weg zur Wasserstoffnutzung
摘要
The transformation of the energy system presents industrial companies with significant implementation and decision-making uncertainties. Hydrogen is seen as a key element for decarbonization, but its adoption is often hindered by high costs, infrastructure bottlenecks, complex regulations, and uncertain market conditions. The aim of the study was to systematically capture the perspectives of industrial stakeholders on hydrogen and to analyze decision-making factors. A survey of 163 company representatives from 18 sectors assessed their level of information, current and planned use, barriers, expected benefits, and information needs. Results show a heterogeneous level of information and a cautious evaluation of hydrogen's role. Usage is rare, and future projects are primarily limited by investment and operating costs, regulatory uncertainties, and the “chicken-and-egg” problem regarding infrastructure, prices, and market demand. Economic benefits and environmental goals serve as key drivers. There is a high need for reliable information on funding programs, regulatory requirements, economic feasibility analyses, and market conditions. Success depends less on technology than on economic certainty, planning security, and reliable information.
