Analysing the empirical research in digital supply chain: a state of art literature review and future research directions
摘要
The objective of the present research is to assess the digital supply chain (DSC) literature and to examine and analyse the present level of empirical research in the DSC. This study also proposes future research directions for DSC adoption. The study evaluates the research framework of 202 DSC studies published between the years 2000 to 2023. The state-of-the-art literature review and analysis of empirical research have been conducted considering 202 research articles. The articles were considered from well-renowned international publishers. The analysis shows that many areas of empirical research, for instance, the real data used for DSC performance analysis and research approaches other than the survey, remain unmapped. The research on DSC in industries, except for manufacturing and automotive, remains untouched. Therefore, more effort should also be made to acquire sample data from emerging countries. The investigation falls short in terms of building mutual awareness of theoretical and methodological aspects. There has been no study undertaken to build a framework for measuring the performance of DSC implementation. Managers must grasp the need to properly integrate DSC practices and performance measures to achieve the stipulated results. The findings inspire practitioners to use creative business thinking to create successful solutions that satisfy their digital objectives. This research study on DSC has glanced at both the literature and empirical investigations. This research emphasized the significance of empirical studies which may provide a road map for further studies on empirical analysis.
