Outcome of Cutaneous T-cell Lymphoma with Total Skin Electron Beam Therapy (TSEBT)-A Single Institute Retrospective Study from India
摘要
Cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL) is treated with skin-directed therapy and systemic therapy. The Indian literature on the actual outcomes of CTCL treated with TSEBT is scarce. This study was conducted to provide an overview of the demographic and treatment features of patients with CTCL who were treated with TSEBT and to evaluate the outcome. This was a retrospective observational study of patients with CTCL who received TSEBT at our institution between March 2005 and September 2016. The data were sourced from the electronic medical records of the hospital-based cancer registry, and progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) were estimated via the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences software. We identified 12 patients in our database with CTCL who received TSEBT. The median follow-up time was 51 months (range 9–168 months). The median progression-free survival (PFS) was 27 months. (range, 0–63 months). The median overall survival (OS) of the patients was 76 months (range: 9–168 months). The 2-year and 5-year PFS rates were 57.1% and 22.9%, respectively. The 2-year and 5-year OS rates were 100% and 60%, respectively. Our analysis revealed that TSEBT treatment in CTCL patients is effective and offers acceptable PFS and OS in real-life settings.
