摘要

Complaints in the oral and dental area are traditionally still primarily viewed in the context of purely physical causes. Psychosocial aspects of illness and health are often considered as a cause too late, only after the condition has already become chronic. This has a negative impact on the expectations of those affected as well as on interdisciplinary cooperation. To improve interdisciplinary support and mutual understanding, this article therefore highlights typical characteristics of these patients and their management in the dental context.
