<p>The merger of the scientific society DGMKG and the professional association in 2000 was an economic necessity and a&#xa0;professional policy success. Only in this way were structures created that enabled professional work as well as a&#xa0;secure anchoring in Europe in the face of resistance. Communication and networking with related surgical disciplines, public bodies, and politicians have become an integral part of professional policy. This article presents in detail the extensive achievements since 2000.</p>

摘要

The merger of the scientific society DGMKG and the professional association in 2000 was an economic necessity and a professional policy success. Only in this way were structures created that enabled professional work as well as a secure anchoring in Europe in the face of resistance.
