BEMA-Behandlungsstrecke der Parodontitis
摘要
Periodontitis is a widespread, chronic inflammatory disease of the periodontium that can lead to tooth loss as well as functional and aesthetic impairments. A standardized treatment concept based on the results of the 2017 World Workshop on the Classification of Periodontal and Peri-Implant Diseases and Conditions can prevent its progression. The new classification of periodontitis has been active in Germany since 2021 and takes into account the severity, progression, and complexity of the disease and requires individualized treatment approaches. The treatment strategy comprises four phases: 1. oral hygiene phase, 2. anti-infective therapy, 3. surgical interventions, and 4. supportive periodontal therapy. Regular aftercare and lifestyle changes, especially for smokers and diabetics, are essential to ensure long-term success and prevent recurrences.
