Purpose Review <p>We conducted a literature review on the PubMed and Scopus databases, covering the period from January 1, 2020, to December 31, 2024. The aim of this review was to analyze the therapeutic alternatives available, now that griseofulvin is not available in many places.</p> Recent Findings <p>Kerion Celsi is a type of inflammatory tinea capitis that most often occurs in pediatric patients. It is caused by zoophilic dermatophytes and is defined by hyperimmune inflammatory response leading to painful, tumor-like lesions on the head or scalp. It is clinically diagnosed, and can be confirmed by Wood’s lamp examination, trichoscopy and microbiological methods. The treatment of choice consists in systemic antifungal therapy. In some cases, systemic corticosteroids, such as prednisone, are added to help control inflammation and prevent scarring alopecia.</p> Summary <p>This review suggest that combination therapy improves outcome but further investigation is required to define the best treatment schedule.</p>
