Stoffwechsel der Prevotellaceae: Energie aus Ballaststoffen der Nahrung
摘要
The Prevotellaceae colonize various habitats where they specialize in the breakdown of complex carbohydrates. In the gastrointestinal tract of animals and humans, they promote the digestion of dietary fiber and produce health-promoting metabolites. Recent findings reveal that the catabolism of important members of the Prevotellaceae rely on membrane-bound electron transfer complexes which generate an electrochemical Na+ gradient.
