Genome-Scale Big Data boostet die Produktion von Biotherapeutika
摘要
Chinese Hamster Ovary cells (CHO) are the main production cell line for industrial manufacturing of biotherapeutics. The recent emergence of a reference genome and other genome-scale data for this cell line has generated a boost in our understanding of the mechanisms CHO cells use for efficient production and has also spotlighted the limitations for increased productivity. A recent genome wide deletion screen indicates that regions of the genome that have no known function may still be essential as their removal from the genome will instantly kill cells.
