摘要

Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis (CPS) is a pathogenic bacterium and causes chronic, debilitating and currently incurable infectious diseases in animals. Typically, CPS is separated into the two biovars Equi and Ovis. Whole genome sequencing and newly created core genome multilocus sequence typing (cgMLST) profiles were used to refine the resolution of characterization to unravel routes of infection. This in-depth genome analysis led to the discovery of a new genetic variant, the genomovar camelid.
