Ernährung der Zukunft: Protein und Folat aus CO2 und H2
摘要
The world must feed 8.16 billion people, with an annual increase of 80 million. Beyond producing enough food quantity, nutritional value is declining, and food production harms the environment. Therefore, we are developing a two-stage microbial-protein system using CO2 and H2 in the first stage with acetate as an intermediate. In the second stage, yeast grows on acetate to produce protein, which is rich in folate (vitamin B9). Consuming 6 g of our protein daily provides the required folate intake.
