Dual Dilemma, Unified Solution: a Radiosurgical Approach to Acute Cholecystitis in Duplicated Gallbladders
摘要
Duplication of the gallbladder is a rare congenital anomaly of the hepatobiliary system. Preoperative diagnosis and differentiation of this malformation is important to avoid inadvertent injury to the biliary system. We present a case study of a male patient with a duplicated gallbladder, cholecystitis, and Gilbert’s syndrome. The patient experienced epigastric abdominal pain lasting several hours. Initial laboratory tests revealed hyperbilirubinemia, elevated gamma-glutamyl transferase, and mild leukocytosis. Imaging studies, including abdominal ultrasound and computed tomography, confirmed the presence of a duplicated gallbladder with cholecystolithiasis and features of Acute cholecystitis. Further evaluation with Magnetic Resonance Cholangiopancreatography confirmed these findings and helped delineate the biliary anatomy and identify potential anatomical variations. The patient subsequently underwent Laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
