摘要

Hop latent viroid (HLVd) is a widespread pathogen in commercial common hop (Humulus lupulus) production. A greenhouse inoculation experiment demonstrated that HLVd has the ability to infect potato (Solanum tuberosum). RNA extraction, reverse transcription, and PCR confirmed that HLVd can reproduce in a range of potato germplasm. The agronomic effects of HLVd in potato remain unknown. Further investigation is needed to determine the distribution of HLVd in commercial potato production, and whether routine testing for this viroid is required.
