摘要

Puya comprises 228 terrestrial and rupicolous bromeliad species that are primarily distributed in Andean habitats, mainly above elevations of 1,500 m. In this study, we propose and describe a new species, Puya orlandoi, from Serra de Ricardo Franco State Park in Mato Grosso, near the border with Bolivia. We provide a detailed description, illustrations, a distribution map, photographs, a preliminary conservation assessment, and comments on the distribution, habitat, phenology, and taxonomy of the new species.
