Lomandra dolichoclada (Asparagaceae: Lomandroideae), a new species from northern Queensland, Australia, is described, illustrated, and compared to its closest relative, L. laxa. The new described species has flowers arranged sparsely along inflorescence rachis and branches, and significantly longer pedicels than L. laxa, making it a rather distinctive species in the genus. Notes on its distribution, habitat, phenology and affinities are provided. A preliminary conservation status of Least Concern is proposed.
