<p>The taxonomic status of <i>Phaeanthus moulmeinensis</i> is revisited and a new combination is made under <i>Polyalthia</i> s.s., providing the correct status. The occurrence of this species is recorded for the first time for the Flora of India. The ambiguous occurrence of <i>Polyalthia rufescens</i> in the Andaman Islands is also discussed. The present study confirms the occurrence of <i>P. rufescens</i> restricted only to the Western Ghats of Tamil Nadu and Kerala, India.</p>

摘要

The taxonomic status of Phaeanthus moulmeinensis is revisited and a new combination is made under Polyalthia s.s., providing the correct status. The occurrence of this species is recorded for the first time for the Flora of India. The ambiguous occurrence of Polyalthia rufescens in the Andaman Islands is also discussed.
